Research / Clock & function

Measure the change.
Test the meaning.

Repeatability, biological relevance and durable functional benefit are three separate questions.

Evidence architecture

Keep four outcomes in view.

Molecular

Clock identity, version, processing and measurement precision.

Function

The cell’s relevant job, in defined units, with suitable controls.

Identity

Composition and cell-state checks that keep interpretation grounded.

Safety

Viability, adverse outcomes and observation duration.

Evidence, not a universal score

Different instruments answer different questions.

The clock-reliability study by Higgins-Chen et al. reports technical-replicate deviations up to nine years for prominent clocks, with most improved PC-clock replicate differences within 1.5 years. These results do not provide a universal error bar for other experiments. Nature Aging, 2022.

The biomarker-validation review by Moqri et al. identifies challenges in comparability, generalization and clinical translation. It establishes a research need, not Karam’s ownership of a solution. Nature Medicine, 2024.

DunedinPACE estimates organism-level aging pace from blood methylation. Cell Painting profiles morphology. A cell-level evidence audit must be assessed against the decision and existing workflow it intends to improve. DunedinPACE · Cell Painting record.

Our development path

Evidence first. Specific assets next.

01 / AVAILABLE TO EXPLORE

Audit workflow

Browser-based descriptive tools, source cases and exportable research decisions.

02 / PROPOSED VALIDATION

Defined benchmark

Test usefulness in one model and intended use, with independent evaluation and appropriate data rights.

03 / CONDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Assay or instrument

Pursue a specific technical advantage only when evidence and prior-art diligence justify it.

Bioelectricity remains a research domain. Commercial implementation requires its own evidence and rights review; competitors’ activity does not close an entire scientific field.
